“Where’d dey go?” Krorden yelled, steering his buggy as close to Two Heads’ battlewagon as he could while looking back and forth between where Two Heads was poking his heads out of a hatch and the ground in front of him. Having already damaged his buggy by running over something once today he was eager not to do it again.

“Dunno.” One of Two Heads answered while the other continued to search the skies for any signs of the two warcopters. The last he had seen of them they had both gone into a sudden dive and then vanished, “Dare wasn’t an explosion though.” The other head then added,” Dey must ‘ave landed.”

“Landed? Wot for?” Krorden asked.

“’Ow should I know?” Two Heads responded.
”So wot should we do den?”
”Well I reckons we just keep on goin’. We’re bound to run into ‘em.” Two Heads said and then the other looked down into the battlewagon, “Got dat Gorrid?” he shouted, “Just keep goin’.”
”Goddit boss.” Gorrid replied.

“See?” Two Heads then said to Krorden, “Now go make sure everyone else does da same. Da last thing we needs is to ‘ave to go drivin’ all over tryin’ to round everyone up.”

Krorden nodded and his buggy suddenly swerved away from the battlewagon. Two Heads then climbed back down into his battlewagon and looked around the interior. Though there were enough of his own troops left to operate the battlewagon and all of its weapons the rest of the vehicle was filled with human and Two Heads was still trying to get used to this. He had transported Hazug’s servants on plenty of occasions before no, but they had all been able to speak the ork language and had known their place as subordinate. This particular set of passengers on the hand was made up of what Two Heads considered wild humans with ideas above their station and his instincts were to toss them all out and try to run them over. However, he had come to trust Hazug’s judgement and so for now at least he would continue to follow the Blood Axe’s plan.

“What is our status ork?” Claudius asked. As far as Two Heads knew he was the only one of his passengers intelligent enough to talk orkish, not counting the two bizarre part man, part machine figures that Rell had brought with him.

“Da coptas ‘ave disappeared.” He replied, “But dare wasn’t no flames so I reckon dey could ‘ave landed.” The other head then added.

“So we could be nearing our destination.” Claudius said.
”Perhaps.” Two Heads replied and then the marine captain turned to the other humans and said something in gothic. Immediately both the other marines and all of Rell’s stormtroopers reacted in the same way, picking up their weapons and checking that they were ready for use. Meanwhile Two Heads turned around and went to stand immediately behind Gorrid in the driver’s seat, “Keep ya eyes open lad.” He said, “If Hazug ‘as found wot ‘e’s lookin’ for den dare could be some of dem genestealers about.”

“Wot d’ya want me to do if I sees any boss?” Gorrid asked and Two Heads pondered this for a moment before replying.

“No point in slowin’ down.” He said before the other head added, “Best just to drive over ‘em.”

The sun was just beginning to set when Gorrid spotted a figure standing alone in front of the battlewagon’s path, waving a rifle in the air.
”Dat’s Hazug.” He exclaimed and Two Heads peered through the vision slit to look for himself.

“It is ‘im.” The nob replied, both of him smiling, “Best stop before ya run ‘im over lad.”

Gorrid braked sharply, producing what Two Heads took to be complaints from the human passengers. He could understand them, but from his interaction with Hazug’s human servants the tone was one he associated with displeasure. As he rushed to the nearest hatch he looked at the humans.

“Looks like we’s dare.” He said before he threw open the hatch and leapt out of the battlewagon.

When he landed on the ground however, he did not head straight for Hazug. Instead he ran towards Hazug’s truck where Drazzok was still sat in the seat beside Daggot.
”Oi Drazzok!” one of him called out, “Ya best come with me.” And then the other added, “Hazug’s up ahead and I wants ya to check ‘im out.”

“Check him out?” Sophie asked when she heard this, “What do you mean?”

“I means Hazug’s been gone for a while.” One of Two Heads told her, “So I wants to know dat its da same Hazug wot left.”
”The same Hazug? But what other Hazug could it be?”

“He means that he needs to be certain that our master has not been corrupted by the genestealers mon’keigh.” Mayleth said, “Very wise.”

“And ‘ow did ya get to be so smart den?” Drazzok asked as he waved at the madboys to bring his chair.

In response both of Two Heads smiled and he slung his rifle over his shoulder. Then he tapped his heads with his index fingers.

“Two ‘eads is better dan one.” He said in unison.

“Come on.” Sophie said to Salia, picking up her lasgun,” We need to make sure Hazug’s okay.”

Salia nodded and both young women jumped down from the truck and approached Two Heads. They were joined by Thuggrim, who led the rest of the madboys carrying Drazzok aloft in his sedan chair.

“Lead da way.” Drazzok called out from his chair and Two Heads set off towards Hazug.
”Stand clear for da great Drazzok!” Thuggrim shouted as he followed Two Heads, seemingly oblivious to the fact that there was no crowd to disperse.

Hazug stood still and watched the approaching group of orks and humans. Behind this he could see more of the warband starting to disembark from their transports. This included the imperial troops whose first act was to organise themselves into lines for inspection, an action that was copied almost exactly by Druken’s stormboys who pulled on their rocket packs while Druken himself checked that they were fitted at least reasonably well.

“’Old it right dare.” Two Heads called out to him as he took a step closer and then the Evil Sun waved Drazzok closer.

“Set me down ‘ere.” Drazzok commanded.

“Of course oh great one.” One of the madboys replied as the chair was lowered to the ground and Drazzok stepped down from it. Then he strode forwards past Thuggrim and Two Heads.

“Don’t.” Two Heads said when he saw Sophie take a step forwards as well, ”Stay ‘ere.”

“Wot’s dis den Two Heads?” Hazug asked.

“Just makin’ sure dat ya are who ya says ya are.” Two Heads replied.

“He thinks you may have been taken over by the genestealers.” Sophie added, “So he wants Drazzok to check you out.”

Hazug grinned.

“Well?” he said as Drazzok came closer and stared at him.

“Aye.” The weirdboy said, “Ya’s still one of us.” And Salia suddenly exhaled, having unconsciously been holding her breath.

Two Heads then both smiled at Hazug and the two nobs walked towards one another.
”So wot would ya ‘ave done if I wasn’t me any more?” Hazug asked and Two Heads patted the hyperphase sword tucked into his belt as one of him looked at Hazug’s warscythe.

“I reckon dat dis choppa would give me a fair chance against dat big choppa ya got dare.” He replied and Hazug looked at each of the two necron weapons in turn.
”Aye.” He said, “Maybe it would.”

Illuminated by a mix of burning troches and the more advanced electric lights carried by the human troops Hazug gathered the entire warband together for what he had to say, both greenskins and humans. He stood in the middle of a ring formed around him and using a stick he began to scrape lines in the ground to illustrate what he had seen in the mining camp.

“Da mine’s a great big fort.” He told them, “With a wall runnin’ all day way around it. Dare’s big shootas and kannons on da walls and more big guns inside, includin’ some lobbas and a couple of supa kannons wot can shoot out over da wall.”

“’Ow many lads?” Two Heads asked.

“’Undreds.” Hazug replied, “Maybe even a thousand.”

“Those are extremely poor odds.” Claudius commented, “Particularly given that they are defending a heavily fortified position.”

“Well I got a plan to make dat fort a lot less fortified dan it is at the mo.” Hazug said and he began prodding where he had drawn a line to represent the wall surrounding the mining camp, “I spotted dat dares places where dey’ve filled in da grot tunnels wot run underneath da wall.” He said, “My plan is for a bunch of us to sneak in while its still dark. We’ll get our own grots to dig out da tunnel entrances again and use ‘em to get into da camp. Den we’ll find da biggest guns and take ‘em out before dey can be used against us.”

“’Ow many of dese guns d’ya reckon ya kommandoes can deal with?” Two Heads asked, aware of the damage that the emplaced artillery could do to his vehicles.

Hazug smiled.

“I aint just talkin’ about me kommandoes.” He replied, “I wants to take everyone wot can sneak about without getting’ noticed. Dat means me lads, Ratish and me other servants plus all of da lads Rell’s brought with ‘im.”

“Really?” Sophie replied, “You’re taking us with you as well?”

“Yeah, dis time I reckon I’ll be needin’ all da ‘elp wot I can get.” Hazug said. Then he looked at Claudius, “’Ow good can ya lads move in dat ‘eavy armour ya all wearin’?” he asked and Claudius smiled at him.

“Well enough.” He replied, “Plus our armour’s systems will allow us to assist guiding you in the darkness. But how do you propose to disable the camp’s defences?”
”Explosives.” Hazug said, “Dis fort is built around a mine so dare ought to be loads lyin’ about. Plus we’ll take as much as we can carry. Dat’s another reason for takin’ everyone wot’s good at sneakin’ about. It lets us carry more stuff.”

“If we are to carry this out without the enemy realising that we are there then we’ll need to synchronise the detonations.” Torris pointed out, his statement translated by the servitors for the benefit of the orks that did not speak gothic.

Hazug looked at Batrug and his apprentices.

“Can ya make somethin’ for us to do dat?” he asked.

“Of course I can.” Batrug replied, “It’s just like da fuses for stikkbomms. In fact da easiest way is to take da fuse from a bunch of ‘em and just make it longer. Though den ya’ll ‘ave a bunch of stikkbomms wot ya can’t use.”

“Dat don’t matter.” Hazug replied, “We can still use da explosives from inside.”
”Supposin’ ya does pull dis off.” Krorden said, “Den wot? Is ya plannin’ to blow open da gates as well? Cause I don’t’ see ‘ow even ya kommandoes can sneak right up to dem to do dat.”

“Nah, da gates’ll need blowin’ from da outside.” Hazug replied.

“Oh yeah?” Two Heads asked and then the other added, “And ‘ow d’ya suppose to do dat.”

“Wot?” Hazug asked him in return, “Dontcha remember ‘ow we got into da rock where all dem tau was ‘idin’?”

Two Heads both grinned.
”Dat was a stupid plan.” Drazzok commented, “It didn’t work like it as supposed to.”
”No but it did work.” Gorrid pointed out with a grin, “Thanks to me.”

“I don’t understand.” Salia said and she looked at her sister, “Wot did they do?”

“They filled a truck with explosives and drove it into the doors of the tau base.” Sophie replied,” It was supposed to explode on contact, but it rolled over and so Gorrid shot it with the battlewagon’s cannon.”

“Blew da doors wide open.” Gorrid said.

“So den we’ll ‘ave taken out da big guns and opened up dat gate.” Two Heads said, “Wot den?”

“Den ya bring in da rest of da lads and we smash da place up.” Hazug replied.

“Dese is already runnin’.” Batrug told Hazug as he handed one timed explosive detonator after another to him and his covert strike force. The devices were all made from modified grenade timers, but because of the length of delay needed were much larger. In fact each one was contained within the metal shell of a grenade, limiting the number an individual could carry.

“When does dey go off?” Hazug asked.

“Dey’s set for about da time da sun comes up.” Batrug answered, “I figured dat ya’d want da rest of us to be able to see wot we was doin’ when we stormed in dare.” And Hazug nodded in agreement.
”I will accompany you as well.” Rell told Hazug.

“Ya sure ay knows wot ya’s doin’?” he asked.
”One does not get to be an inquisitor of my rank without considerable combat experience.” He replied, “And almost all of it takes place in the shadows.”

“Fine.” Hazug said and he looked at Batrug, “Give ‘im some of dese an’ all.” Then he turned towards his truck where Rhia was stood with her back to it, “Wot about ya den?” he said to her, “Is ya comin’ an’ all?”

Immediately Rhia, Salia and Sophie stared at Hazug.

“Why bring dat got master?” Ratish hissed, “It lies.”

“Because I needs every pair of ‘ands we got.” He said, walking towards Rhia, “Well?” he asked.
”What good would I be unarmed?” she asked and Hazug reached into a bag on the floor of his truck and pulled out a semi-automatic pistol of human manufacture and several magazines. Immediately Rhia recognised the weapon as the on she had been carrying when she had returned to Hazug. Although at that time she had only had three bullets for it and no spare magazines. Clearly he had obtained more ammunition for just this eventuality.

“I knows ya arm aint strong enough for a zappa.” He said in reference to the injury he had inflicted on her himself as punishment for betraying him, “But ya ‘ad dis when ya came back so I figures dat ya can use it.”

“You can’t give her a gun Hazug.” Sophie protested, “Ratish is right. We can’t trust her.”

Hazug looked at Mayleth.

“Ya knows wot to do if she tries to sell us out right?” he asked and the eldar smiled and nodded once.

“She will suffer for any betrayal my master.” She said.

“Dare.” Hazug said to Sophie, “All settled. If she tries changin’ sides den she aint gonna get away with it.”

“I won’t let you down.” Rhia said as she accepted the pistol and then took a step closer to Batrug and held out her hands to be given some of the fuses.

“I knows ya won’t.” Hazug replied as he turned in the direction of the fortress walls that lay on the other side of the hill.
