The first rays of sunlight were just appearing over the horizon when the warcopter returned to the fortress refinery and from the air Hazug could see a number of gretchin rushing about. This was typical of ork settlements, where the smaller greenskins would get up early to ensure that everything was prepared when their larger cousins awoke. A handful of orks were already awake however, having been instructed to guard the main gate just in case either the fort was attacked or any more orks decided to leave during the night. The sound of the approaching warcopter attracted the attention of the guards and by the time it set down beside the other aircraft in the fort a group of orks was rushing towards it to see who had just arrived.

“Hazug wot ‘appened?” Gorgoga called out, his unit having been woken by the sound of the warcopter. Then he noticed Sophie, “I see ya got ya git back den.” He added.

Hazug snorted.

“Krurgan wasn’t keen to give ‘er back though.” He replied, climbing off the warcopter while Sophie instead leapt off and dropped onto all fours.
”Oh thank the Emperor.” She gasped,” We’re back on the ground.”

“Sophie!” Salia called out from a distance and Sophie looked up to see her sister rushing towards her. Sophie staggered back to her feet just as Salia reached her and the pair embraced, “Did they hurt you?” Salia asked.
”No. I think they were more interested in getting to where they were going than me.” Sophie replied,” But what about you?”

“I spent most of the night tied to a chair while Thuggrim just stared at me. I was lucky that all the commotion woke Drazzok and he came looking for something to eat. If he hadn’t untied me to make him some food I’d probably still be tied up now.”

“Krurgan’s ‘ad a go at dat old human fort I reckon.” Hazug said to Gorgoga, “We ‘eard ‘im usin’ dat supa-kannon ‘e nicked. We bets get all of da lads ready cause I don’t reckon dat Krurgan and ‘is lads didn’t do so well as dey reckoned dey would.”

Grath got out of bed somewhat cautiously when Hazug came to see him. The larger ork still was not used to his new bionic limbs, despites Dok Skarmaker’s assurances that they offered significant improvements over the original ones.

“So wot’s goin’ on?” he asked the Blood Axe.

“Krurgan made it to da human fort.”
”Aint dat a good thing?” Grath asked, “Dem traitors dare deserve a good kickin’.

“I knows dat. But I reckon dat dare’s somethin’ more goin’ on around ‘ere. Da lads wot I saw at da fort didn’t act like lads is supposed to.”
”Ya means just like Rorgun?”

“Yeah, dat’s right. But I also only saw an ‘andful of lads dare. I wants to know where da rest is.”

“Inside da fort maybe.”

“Maybe. But I thought dat ya was supposed to ‘ave an ‘ole load of wagons ‘ere. Dethkoptas an’ all.” Hazug said.

“I did.” Grath replied, “Until dat Rorgun nicked ‘em all.”

“So where is dey now?” Hazug asked, “Cause like da lad, dare was only a few outside da fort and ya’d never get any inside it.”

Grath frowned.

“Look,” Hazug said, unrolling his map of the island, da only place we aint checked out yet is ‘ere.” And he pointed to a spot on the far coast labelled ‘GIT AIR BASE’, “So wot can ya tell me about ‘ere?”

Grath shrugged.

“Like da map says, its some old air base built by da gits. Its like everythin’ else dey left on dis island, all smashed up. Me meks said dat dare wasn’t even enough worth lootin’ to make it worth travellin’ all day over dare.”

Before Hazug could respond there was an excited knock at the door and Ratish burst in.
”Master come quick!” he exclaimed.

“Wot’s goin’ on?” Hazug asked.

“Master ‘as to come with Ratish.” Ratish said, “Dat Snake Bite Krurgan’s back.”

Just enough orks reached the main road to fill the truck and just as Krurgan instructed the driver then brought them back to the refinery. However, they found the main gates barred to them and the guards refused to let them in.

Krurgan paced up and down impatiently.

“Ya’ll ‘ave to open dat gate sooner or later.” He called out, “Den I’ll ‘ave ya for makin’ me wait.”

“Nah ya won’t.” one of Two Heads called out from the battlements and then the other added, “I’d like to see ya try.” Either side of him his troops awaited for the order to fire at the motley collection of orks below. For now though, they stood just peering over the battlements with their rifles out of sight.

Two Heads heard the approach of Hazug and particularly Grath, his bionic limbs making a significant amount of noise as he moved.

“Open da gates.” Grath ordered, “Not all da way though. Just a little bit.”

Outside Krurgan smiled as he first heard and then saw the gates begin to open. But his face fell when they stopped moving when the gap was just wide enough for Hazug to step through brandishing his rifle.

“Out of me way git lover.” Krurgan said, scowling.

“Not so fast.” Hazug snapped and he raised his rifle. Reacting to this the other orks in the truck drew their own guns and took aim at Hazug, ready to fire until they noticed the number of rifles now being aimed at them from above.

“Shootas?” Krurgan said, “Dat just like a Blood Axe. Wot’s wrong with just usin’ a choppa like a real ork? Now step aside and let me and me lads in.”

“Ya disobeyed me orders Krurgan.” Hazug said sternly, “Now look at ya. Where’s d rest of ya mob? Or ‘ow about da rest of da other mobs ya took with ya? Da wagons an’ all. Wot ‘appened to ‘em all? I bet dey is all smashed aint dey?”

“’Ow should I know? ‘Alf of ‘em turned on me as soon as we got dare. We took out one mob of lads and another one just joined ‘em. ‘Ow is I supposed to fight dat? Even da crew of dat supa-kannon turned on me.”

Hazug’s frown deepened.
”Ya mean dat dey got da supa-kannon?” he said, the anger in his voice obvious.

“Yeah well wot was I supposed to do?” Krurgan said, “Now out of me way. Ya aint in charge ‘ere git lover. Dis is Grath da Bludgeoner’s fort, not yours.”

“’E does ‘ave a point dare Hazug.” Grath called out from the battlements above.

“Yeah I suppose ‘e does.” Hazug shouted back, “But ‘e aint in ya fort at da mo is ‘e?”

“No ‘e aint.” Grath shouted, “But I suppose if ‘e was to make it back inside den I’d ‘ave to ‘ear ‘im out.”

Hazug now grinned.

“Mayleth!” he called out and the eldar woman stepped out from the gap between the gates.

“Dare ya go.” Hazug said to Krurgan, “All ya gotta do is get past ‘er. Reckon ya’s up to it?”

“Aint no pansy gonna stop me.” Krurgan said and drawing his sword he advanced towards Mayleth.

He had taken only two steps when Mayleth darted forwards, drawing two blades from her belt. Krurgan swung his sword, aiming to decapitate her. But Mayleth simply rolled aside and slashed at the ork nob’s leg. The wound was shallow, but it still prompted a roar of anger.

“Come ‘er ya pansy!” he bellowed and he tried to turn. However, the wound Mayleth had inflicted had been placed precisely so that as he moved the muscles in his leg gave way and he collapsed, crying out in pain while the orks watching from the battlements jeered. He reached out and caught hold of Mayleth’s leg before she could get back to her feet, “Gotcha!” he snapped, pulling her towards him. The eldar drew back her free leg and kicked, ramming her heel into Krurgan’s face. There was a crunching sound as his nose collapsed and he roared again. Mayleth inflicted a second shallow wound, this time slicing along the arm that grasped her and feeling Krurgan’s grip go slack she leapt to her feet and looked down at him.

“Your enemy is defeated my master.” She said, ”What do you wish done with him?”

“Kill ‘im!” one of Two Heads yelled from the battlements and a cheer went up from the other ork there. Hazug looked up at Grath and waited. The warboss held out his fist with his thumb extended and turned it downwards.
”Kill ‘im.” Hazug said and Mayleth plunged her dagger into Krurgan’s eye.

Hazug then turned towards the truck and looked at the orks still embarked.

“Ya is all still gonna get a beatin’.” he told them, “But if ya gets in da fort now den she aint gonna be usin’ a choppa.”
