Thuggrim and the madboys were exactly where Hazug and Two Heads expected them to be, clustered around the base of the hastily constructed weirdhut. Most of them were lay down, sleeping in the open air. But two of them were stood at the base of the ladder that led up to the hut where Drazzok himself was presumably sleeping holding the banners that the unit was proudly displaying.

Thuggrim himself was lent up against the metal pole that was allowing Drazzok to drain his psychic power safely, dozing.

“Oi Thuggrim.” Hazug said, kicking the sleeping mad nob.

“Squig!” Thuggrim snapped as he sat upright and stared straight ahead. Two Heads slowly moved a hand back and forth in front of Thuggrim but he did not react.

“We needs ya lads.” Hazug said, “Krurgan looks to ‘ave gone wanderin’ off somewhere and I wants to find ‘im.”

Thuggrim still did not react. Hazug sighed and aimed his rifle in the direction Thuggrim was staring and fired a single shot. All around the madboys continued to sleep, gunfire being insufficient to rouse them.

“Dare,” he said, “da squig is dead. Now we needs ya lads.”

“Dat was a close one.” Thuggrim announced as he got to his feet, “Da squig almost got us.”

“Yeah, right.” Two Heads commented, glancing towards Hazug.

“Come on, get ya lads together.” Hazug said, “We needs to go find Krurgan.”

“Of course we does.” Thuggrim said as he began to kick the sleeping madboys in order to wake them, “But dare is one thing I wants to know.”

“Wot?” Hazug asked.
”Who’s Krurgan?”

“We’ll point ‘im out to ya when we finds ‘im.” Hazug replied.

“Nice one.” Thuggrim said and then he looked up at the weird hut, “I just needs to ask da great one’s permission.” He said, “If ‘e needs us and we aint ‘ere den we’ll ‘ave failed ‘im.” Then he took a deep breath before calling out, “Oi! Great one! Great one is ya asleep?”

“I was ya nutter.” Drazzok complained as he peered down the ladder,” Now wot d’ya want in da middle of da night?”

“Hazug Throatslitter of the Blood Axe clan respectfully requests dat we accompanies ‘im in a quest to locate Krurgan.”

“’Ow many times does I ‘ave to tell ya?” Drazzok replied, “I don’t do lost property. Especially not when I should be sleepin’.”

“We just need ya lads Drazzok.” Hazug responded.
”Really? Den I can stay ‘ere and sleep?”

“Yep.”

“Den wotcha waitin’ for? Sod off da lot of ya. Don’t wake me up again until dare’s a descent breakfast waitin’ for me.” And with that Drazzok’s face vanished back into the weird hut.

“Ya ‘eard da great one!” Thuggrim shouted to the other madboys, “Follow me!”

“Quietly.” Hazug added.

“Oh yeah,” Thuggrim said, “Be quiet.” And then to the nearest madboy he added, “Shush.” Softly.

The madboy smiled, turned to the next member of the group and raising a finger to his lips he too said, “Shush.” Only slightly louder than Thuggrim. In turn this madboy did exactly the same thing, once again increase the volume of his instruction and so this went on until the last madboy turned around to find no one behind him and instead just bellowed, “Shush!” at the top of his voice into thin air.

Surprisingly the madboys required no further reminders to keep quiet as they followed Hazug and Two Heads, their movements exaggerating the fact that they were keeping quiet by taking large strides on the tips of their toes.

The orks had taken over buildings spread all around the fort as quarters so there were a great many buildings that the missing orks could have been in. However, apart from the torches illuminating the fighting pits the whole of the fort’s interior seemed to be in darkness so Hazug instead led Two Heads and the madboys towards the only other lit area, the main gate.

Here the burning torches mounted on top of the fort’s battlements continued to cast their flickering orange light over the area just within and outside the walls and two things were immediately apparent to Hazug. Firstly the mob of Snake Bites that was supposed to have been guarding the gates was missing and secondly the gates were wide open. Looking down at the ground Hazug saw the unmistakable imprints in the ground left by a succession of ork vehicles passing.

“Check da wagons!” he snapped.

Abandoning their more stealthy movements, the orks ran to where the warband’s ground vehicles had been parked and Hazug roared in anger when he saw that half were gone, including all of the fully tracked vehicles. Additionally it did not take more than a few moments to realise that the missing vehicles were those belonging to the orks who were unaccounted for.
”Where dey gone master?” Ratish asked as he joined the orks in staring at the vehicles.

“To dat old human fort is my guess.” Hazug replied, “Dat Krurgan wanted to attack right away and now ‘e’s gone and done it without knowin’ wot ‘e’s up against.”

“We can go after ‘em.” One of Two Heads suggested and the other nodded in agreement.

Hazug ran to his own truck and began to inspect it.

“Krurgan must ‘ave known dat.” He said as he peered into the engine, looking for any signs of damage, “’E must ‘ave thought of somethin’ to stop da rest of us comin’ after ‘im.”

“If ‘e’s so much as dented me wagon I’ll ‘ave ‘im for it.” Two Heads said, both of him snarling.

“Dare’s nought wrong with dis.” Hazug said, “Not dat I can see anyways. Batrug may be able to find somethin’ but I don’t see Krurgan bein’ so subtle.”

“Den maybe ‘e’s got somethin’ else in store.” Two Heads suggested.

“Well we needs to figure out wot.” Hazug said and he looked at Two Heads, “We’ll need da meks to double check da wagons and we needs to figure out exactly wot Krurgan’s taken with ‘im. For dat we’ll need everyone to look, so we’ll ‘ave to go and stop da fights.”

“Da lads aint gonna like dat.” Two Heads pointed out.

“I knows dat. But we can tell ‘em its cos of Krurgan, dat’ll keep ‘em with us.” Hazug said and then he added, “I better go ask if Salia and Sophie ‘ave seen ought. Dey wasn’t at da fights so maybe dey saw somethin’.”

“Only one it at ‘ome master.” Ratish said suddenly and Hazug frowned.
”Wotcha mean only one at ‘ome?” he demanded.

“Well when Ratish wents to get master’s shoota only da new one was dare.”
”Salia? Did she say ‘ow come?”

“Nah master.” Ratish replied, shaking his head, “Couldn’t.”

Hazug frowned and lifted Ratish off the ground.
”Now listen ‘ere,” he said sternly, “ya is gonna tell me exactly wot’s goin’ on. Now.” And then he dropped the gretchin to the ground.

“Yes master. Ratish went to da ‘ut just like master said and da new git was dare tied to a chair. Master never said to untie it so Ratish left it like ‘e found it.”

Hazug then just broke into a run, heading for his hut.

“Follow ‘im lads!” Thuggrim snapped and the madboys also set off after him. Meanwhile Two Heads looked down at Ratish.

“Stupid runt.” One of him said, “Now ya best come with me, we needs to let da others know dat Krurgan’s gone with ‘alf da wagons.”

The door to the hut suddenly burst open as Hazug barged through. Still bound to the chair Salia screamed. Hazug let go of both Cuddles leash and his rifle and rushed over to her, ripping the cluster of rags from her mouth.
”Wot ‘appened ‘ere?” he demanded.

“It was two of the Snake Bites.” Salia said, gasping as she took in several deep breaths now that she could breath through her mouth as well, “They took Sophie.”
”Where?”

“I don’t know, they just said that if you went after them they’d kill her.”

A look of rage appeared on Hazug’s face and he went to where his weapons were hidden, kicking the blankets aside and picking up the necron warscythe before running from the hut.

“Look after ‘er.” He yelled at the madboys as they arrived just as he was leaving.

Thuggrim and the madboys just looked at one another as they stood in the doorway.

“Okay den,” Thuggrim began, “so who knows anythin’ about lookin’ after gits?” and in response there was an awkward silence as the madboys continued to look at one another and shuffled their feet.

“She’s starin’ at us boss.” One of the madboys said suddenly and Thuggrim turned to see Salia was indeed staring at them, waiting to be untied.

“Oh I knows ‘ow to deal with dis.” He said as he walked up to Salia and sat down in front of her, “Gits reckons dey is dead good at starin’. Well beat me in one starin’ contest is shame on dem, but beat in sixty four consecutive starin’ contests is shame on me.” And as the other madboys watched he opened his eyes wide and stared into Salia’s face.

“Krurgan took Sophie.” Hazug said to Two Heads when he encountered the Evil Sun nob just as the crowd watching the fights was starting to disperse to check on their belongings and both of his head frowned.

“Wot does ‘e want with ‘er?” one asked.

“’E reckons dat ‘oldin’ her prisoner’ll stop me goin’ after ‘im.”

“And will it?” the other head asked. In response to this.

“Course not.” Hazug replied, “It just means I gotta go get ‘er back from ‘im.” And then he spotted the pilot of one of the warcopters just as he was heading to check on his aircraft, “Oi flyboy!” he yelled, running after the pilot.
”Wot boss?” the pilot replied.

“Is ya copta ready to fly?”

“Should be. Unless dem Snake Bites ‘as bust it.”

“I doubt it.” Hazug said, “Now let’s get a bleedin’ move on cause ya is takin’ me after ‘em.”
