Rhia had been hooded for the journey back to the city and so had not been able to see where she was being taken. She had tried asking on several occasions, but each time the only response had been a sharp blow from an ork’s fist or booted foot and an order to keep quiet. At some point she had fallen asleep and when she woke she found herself in a darkened room without either the hood or chains. She blinked as she waited for her eyes to adjust to the darkness and she was able to make out some details. The room was not totally pitch black, there was a window that had been crudely boarded up and barred through which just enough light entered for her to be able to take stock of her surroundings. There was no furniture in the room beyond a basic mattress on which she was lay and a bucket that had been left in one corner. Carefully she made her way to the door where she discovered that the handle had been removed.

“Hello?” she called out, banging on the door, “Hello? Is anyone there?”

In reply there was a brief laugh and then a familiar voice spoke.

“Git should keep quiet.” Ratish said,” or else it not get fed.” And then a small hatch cut at the base of the door opened and a plate of food along with a flask was pushed into the room. Hungry Rhia reached down and eagerly began to shovel food into her move, flinching when it became obvious that someone had spat into the meal.

Then something in her memory triggered the realisation of where she was. This was the same room that she had occupied while pretending to be Hazug’s loyal servant when in fact she had been attempting to procure the anti-tank missiles that Venris Highbalt’s forces so desperately desired.

Now it had been converted into her prison.

The gates opened and a group of orks pushed Viktor Mortel out into the arena. This was not the massive central arena that was still undergoing repairs following the appearance of the bloodthrister, but instead a much smaller one sued for fights that were not so interesting. However, there were still well over a hundred orks in the seats surrounding them who cheered as the human stumbled into view.

“What do you want?” Mortel called out and then he heard someone else being forced into the arena with him and he looked around to see Captain Yale and The Mason following him through the gate.

“Captain Yale?” Mortel said, “What’s happening?”

“I think they expect us to fight.” Yale replied, “But you should, know better than I do. Your Traders’ Association sent enough people to this place.”
”Yes but I never asked what happened to them.” Mortel replied.
”Yale. Tell me where we are.” The Mason then said as the gate behind them was slammed shut, but before Yale could answer another gate opened and there were growls and barks as more than a dozen attack squigs came bounding towards them.

As the humans screamed the orks in the audience leapt to their feet and cheered even louder.

There were fungal growths all around as Graffgan of the Death Skulls lead his comrades through the forest. Their destination was one of the remote places where the reproductive spores released by all types of orkoid life settled and developed into more of them.

There were muffled growls coming from beneath the ground as Graffgan stood at the edge of the fungus filled clearing and looked to the figure standing just behind him. This creature was not an ork instead it was an alien that possessed a thick carapace and four arms, two of which ended in normal looking hands and the other two in vicious looking claws.

“It’s time.” Graffgan said and the alien just hissed.

Then there was a growl from the clearing as an ork’s hand broke the surface and the newly born creature began to drag its way from the pod it had gestated in. The skin of this ork was not the typical green of the species; instead it possessed a slight bluish tinge and from beneath one of its arms sprouted an extra limb. A limb that ended in three long claws.

The strange ork creature stared at Graffgan and scowled. The instinct of newborn orks was to attack whatever they first saw, but this creature held back in an act that would have resulted in its death at the hands of any normal ork. But instead Graffgan looked at the creature while pointing to the alien beside him.

“Dat’s ya boss.” He said, “We do wot ‘e tells us to.”

Then another clawed hand broke the surface nearby.
